Well, hi!
In my last post, I declared the return of the Funkyard to your inbox! That was, apparently, not true at all, and I will make no such claims now. But I wanted to say hello and see how yβall are doing.
Since we last met, we had a lovely Halloween, Thanksgiving (we hosted!), and Christmas. Andy had his achilles surgery, and after weeks of recovery is already walking sans crutches and boot. Samson is huge. Last weighed in at 87 lbs and weβre certain heβs gotta be over 90 now. Luckily he is the sweetest, so heβs no trouble, only 90 lbs of love. Iβve read some books, watched some movies, caught up on some shows. But your watch and read lists are already long enough, arenβt they?
I did have some stories come out, that I wrote mid-last year and came out in the Jan/Feb print issue of Discover. The COVID story is comically outdated already, and the Biden story likely is too, though to a lesser degree.
Soon it will be GARDEN PLANNING SEASON and Iβll have some excitement for you. I also have some plant-related NEWS that Iβm not quite ready to share, but I insist you get really, really excited about. But for now, you just get dog pictures.
Let me know if thereβs anything you want to hear about in the meantime as we wait for garden season. Besides Samson, obviously.
OK team, thatβs all for today. Have a great week!
Take care please,
XOXO,
A
P.S.

Love love love these dog pics! You got a good one. Also, I'm clicking into two of your stories as a result of this newsletter. Keep it comin. Hope y'all are well.
Samson is the finest. What a treat.
But also, I've had family dogs in my life for 40 years and he's not fooling me, even with that cute napping-on-his-toy pic. That's 90lbs of mischief, biding its time.
